World Clean-up Day 2018

The Students of class VIII along with three teachers reached Ahmedabad Education Society ground, Drive-in on World Clean-up Day. The focus of SAS students on this clean-up drive was to spread a message and raise awareness about health and hygiene all over Ahmedabad. The students undertook this cleanliness drive and enthusiastically started picking up plastic, waste paper, weeding out the grass and even dumped the waste properly in dustbin. They also coloured the walls around the ground. The team of BETHAR INDIA provided the students with gloves, masks and hats during this drive.
The ground was very big and students were given an area to clean .Three more schools joined with SAS in this campaign which was really inspiring.
As the part of recycling, each student of SAS donated old newspapers and books for this cleanliness campaign. The total collection of more than 109 Kgs was given to the team of BETHAR INDIA by SAS students.
They realise the dignity of work through this activity. One of our students said that it was so easy to throw waste and make an area dirty but so difficult to clean it up.
All the hard work of SASites rightly reminds of a quote “So long as you do not take the broom and the bucket in your hands, you cannot make your towns and cities clean.”
