Family plays a major role in passing the traditions from one generation to another. Traditional Family Day was celebrated by the students of Pre Primary of Shanti Asiatic School on Saturday, February 2, 2019, to make children aware of traditional games and be a part of it along with their parents .
The event commenced at 9:30 a.m. with the lighting of the lamp by Principal Shri Abhay Ghosh , Vice Principal Ms. Sandhya Uday along with few parents and the little angels of Pre Primary
Exciting traditional races and games were organised for the parents and children like Hulla Hoop Race, Three Legged Race, Jalebi Race, Tug of War, Seven Stones, Gilli Danda , Kho- Kho, Skipping etc Traditions and culture are our roots and they are reflected in not only what we wear but also what we eat. Traditional food counters depicted the flavours of India. Children and parents relished the Traditional food items like Bajra Rotla, Turmeric Vegetable cooked in pure ghee. Parsi Dhanshak, Dal Pakwan, freshly churned Chhas, Rajasthani Dal Batti etc
Display of beautiful handicrafts was mesmerising. The children also enjoyed being a part of games like balloon shooting, ring toss, matki phod, angry birds etc which were like icing on the cake. The feedback from parents was overwhelming. Mr Zalki expressed his views he \\by saying, “… The school is doing a great job of reviving traditional values in our society, it helped us to spend some quality time with the child and recreate our childhood memories”
Thus, it was a humble attempt to recreate the childhood memories of the parents and give them an opportunity to interact and play games along with their child.
