Dev’s Camp

To give new experiences to our students, Shanti Asiatic School had arranged an adventurous trip of three days and two nights at Dev’s Camp, Panchmahal district, Gujarat recently.
The Adventure camp was a great learning experience where students discovered and rediscovered their passion, went beyond their limitations and approached risk gracefully. This camp was a combination of fun filled games and life skills activities which made learning experience richer, joyful and rewarding.

An excursion to Panchgani

April 15 to April 19, 2017

A journey is best measured in Friends rather than Miles
Our students of classes IV-VI made an adventurous excursion to Panchgani ; along with their friends and teachers .. The trip was both thrilling and exploratory with activities such as Rock Climbing, Rapelling, Caving, Zip Lining and Rope Course

The breathtaking sunrise, sunset, forest and table top views brought the students closer to the beauty of nature…The pollution free atmosphere, crisp- cool breeze and night sky filled with bright shining stars left the students spellbound.

Each moment the pupils spent in the cradle of nature must have certainly left an idelible impression on their little minds- experiences which will be cherished and fondly remembered by the students for a long time!!

Fine Feather Dental Clinic

Around 72 students from Nursery class visited the Fine Feather Dental Clinic on 25 February, 2020. The doctor at the Dental Clinic was very friendly and told the children in simple language the right brushing technique and good eating habits to prevent and fight cavities.

Fire Station

Four sections of Jr. KG went on a very informative and interesting field trip to the “Fire Station,” on 26/02/2020 and 27/02/2020. The students got an opportunity to meet the fire fighters and observe how these brave hearts worked selflessly to save lives from disastrous fires.

Kids City

122 students from Sr. KG visited the Kids City on 26th February, 2020. The kids entered Kids City with a lot of excitement and started exploring the different activities. Detailed information and hands on experience was provided to students for different services.

Government Mental Hospital

Psychology students of class 12th science and humanities along with their subject teacher made a visit to the Government Mental Hospital located in Shahibaug, on 24 December, 2019. The students visited the chronic ward, acute ward and the OPD. They gathered a great deal of information ranging from causes, diagnosis and treatment for psychiatric problems.

Parle-G factory

The students of grade III and IV had an exhilarated visit to the Parle-G factory on 14/02/2020 and 17/02/2020 respectively. They got to know about various process like kneading, mixing, shaping, baking, cooling to the final stage of packing.

Flower Show

Date: January 10, 2019

Pupils from Class II visited the Flower Show at Riverfront . This year’s Flower show is a tribute to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Flowery exhibits depicting Gandhiji with his spinning wheel, the historic Dandi March & Salt Satyagraha really sent a wave of wonder amongst the students.

Kankariya Zoo

Class :Nursery & Jr. KG | Date: January 11, 2019

To promote awareness about the animal world, kindergarteners were taken on a field trip to Kankariya Zoo recently. It was a part of their ISA theme: ‘Care for the unspoken.’
Children were thrilled as they witnessed a variety of birds like emus, parrots, peacocks, parakeets, lovebirds, cranes, swans. They also saw some unique birds like Crown Pigeon, Nicobar Pigeon, White parrot, White peacock and Cassowary. The food habits and habitat of these birds were also described at length to the visitors.
The little ones were amazed to see all the animals.

Indroda Nature’s Park, Gandhinagar

Class :Sr. KG
The objective of this trip was to study nature and wild life. It was a unique experience for them to relate their classroom work to nature. They were very enthusiastic and excited to see the park. They enjoyed observing different types of saplings and creepers. The intelligent queries posed by the little ones really astounded their teachers. Tiny tots screamed in delight as they chased colourful insects and butterflies.

ISRO

Students of Class IV visited ISRO as their Educational Trip on October 19, 2019. They enjoyed observing models of Launch vehicle and original Satellite with receiving thorough explanation of the same from the host faculty. The knowledge gained by the students includes (but not confined to) information about launch vehicle like their types (PSLV and GSLV) size, parts, used, launching process, controlling system, their latest mission and working on a human spaceflight program. They enjoyed watching 3D movie, which was phenomenal.

Sundervan

The students of Class III were taken on a field trip to Sundarvan (A Nature Discovery Centre) on October 18, 2019. This trip was an attempt to open their mind by allowing them to touch, feel, breathe and interact with nature. The visit to Sundarvan was both informative and thrilling for our students. They came to know about the rare species of animals which so far they had only seen in books and pictures.

ISRO

Class: Senior KG | September 24, 2019 to September 26, 2019

Shanti Asiatic firmly believes in igniting the scientific temper of our students at a very young age. The field trip to ISRO was one such move to awaken the junior scientist’s in our Sr. KG students.

The two non-functional replicas of the GSLV rocket at the entrance of ISRO premises sent our students into raptures.

The students got to know about journey of Indian astronauts Sunita Williams and Kalpana Chawala & how they travelled to space. They were also shown the space suits the astronauts wore and given a brief account of life in space.

Children watched a 3D movie in the auditorium demonstrating the complete rocket launching programme.

Sundervan

Jr.KG | Sept 24, 2019 and Sept 26, 2019

Our little ones from Jr. KG were taken on a nature walk to Sundervan. It was an attempt to open their mind by allowing them to touch, feel, breathe and interact with nature.

The visit to Sundervan was both informative and thrilling for our students. They came to know about the rare species of animals which so far they had only seen in books and pictures.

Kite Museum

Shanti Asiatic School organised a field trip to the Kite Museum for the students of grade III and IV on July 10 and July 11 2019 respectively. It was a walk which took us to the past and we saw things right from the 15th century till today. The students were happy as well as surprised to experience such great kites ranging from geometric designs to designs of trees, fruits, animals and birds, even human beings. They also came to know that how Le Corbusier – The father of modern architecture designed the museum which was inaugurated on 27th February 1986. All the students were very pleased to visit the place . They saw a variety of things ranging from clothes to utensils , weapons , throne etc. All together it was a historical window of ancient times.

Decathlon

Nursery : First Trip….First Experience
At SAS we always take pride in expanding our students’ knowledge and their experiences. With this in mind we planned a short trip for Pre Primary.
To understand the importance of sports, students of Nursery visited “Decathlon” on July 15, 2019. Kiddos got to experience and know about the different sports items. They were also allowed to play different sports activities.

Fine Feather Dental Clinic

Junior KG:
To create dental awareness among children a field trip was organized to Fine Feather Dental Clinic on July 16, 2019. The dentist demonstrated the correct brushing techniques and the tongue cleaning process. Kids were encouraged to gargle every time after having food.

Pet’s Clinic

Senior KG: The students of Senior KG went on a very informative and interesting field trip to “Pet’s Clinic”. The children were excited to see pets visiting the clinic. They were amazed to see equipments and accessories displayed in the clinic. The doctor shared information regarding the types of pet, their health, hygiene, nutrition and well-being.

Auto World Vintage Car Museum

On February 13th 2019, the students of Grade 5 of Shanti Asiatic School took a field trip to the Auto World Vintage Car Museum in Ahmedabad . The field trip was organized in order to show the students the beauty of older vehicles from all over the world. They got to witness the vehicles of the past and gain a better understanding and respect for them. Overall it was an informative, knowledgeable and a memorable field trip for the students.

Science City

Class II
Shanti Asiatic School had arranged a Field Trip to Science City for the students of class II on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Science City is an organization under Government of Gujarat which promotes scientific thinking and awareness. It aims at improving the scientific temper of the community in today’s times of knowledge driven economic growth. The main attraction for the students was “The Earth Pavilion” where amazing facts about earth were revealed. It had a Biodiversity Park, variety of rocks,a beautiful space corner, and wonderful working models. In the Hall of Space and Science, there was a lot of information displayed about Space Science. In the same dome, all the students watched a play and a short documentary on “Galaxy and Life in Outer Space”.
Overall, it was a very exciting trip for students and which really helped them understand basic Science. It was an informative trip in all.

Field Trip @ Kankariya

Zoo – “An excellent place to study the habits of wild life”

The reason for visiting a zoo is to observe the behaviour of the animals and to compare the characteristic features of nocturnal and diurnal animals.

The children gained a better understanding of unique animals.

Thus the trip aided the children explore and observe the wild life within their native.

Field Trip @ Kid’s City

Community Helpers are the real heroes!
To create an awareness of work done by community helpers, the students of Sr.KG visited “Kids’ City” on 5th January 2019.
The students were explained about ways of working of various departments of society. In Havmor Ice-cream factory they were explained how ice-cream is made with machines. In T.V. studio through smart technology they had the experience of conducting interviews. In 108 services they were briefed about medical emergencies. Fire brigade and BRTS services were experienced by the students. Finally, students enjoyed Puppet show and Magic show in the theatre.

Thus, it was a learning experience for Kids.

Sasities visits ISRO

SAS organized an educational trip for Sr.KG students to ISRO on October 25th and 26th, 2018. Students were eager to know how satellites and astronauts work.
The students were amazed to see the magnificent GSLV model. They were enlightened with the video, depicting achievements of ISRO and how the astronauts do research in space. They were thrilled to see the model of Solar System.
The overall experience was enthralling and inspiring as it filled their hearts with great patriotism and pride as the trip made students realized that India is a SUPER POWER in space services.

Field trip to Sundervan

Field trip is important to help bridge the gap between education and hands on experience. The students of Junior KG and Nursery visited Sundervan on 26th October 2018.
Activities in Sundervan acted as a catalyst in the process of exploring. They visited a Mini-Zoo which has a collection of reptiles, birds and small mammals which facilitated them to gain knowledge about different varieties of animals.

Parle-G Factory

Class IV & V | December 3 & 5, 2019

The students had an exhilarated visit to the Parle-G Factory at Naroda. Parle G (the G in which incidentally stands for Genius) is one of the oldest biscuit branch in India and the largest selling biscuit in the world. The students were shown a documentary where they got to know the origin of the brand ‘PARLE’, its founder and various products manufactured by Parle. Then , they were also taken for a tour of the entire factory . The students were not only glad to see the manufacturing of a variety of biscuits but grasped a fair amount of information pertaining to the entire process..
Overall, it was an informative, knowledgeable and a memorable trip for the students.

Gurudwara Gobind dham

Shanti Asiatic School had arranged a field trip to Gurudwara Gobind dham for the students of class II on 24.11.18 (Saturday). It was a pleasant spiritual experience for the children. Children with their heads covered payed reverence to the Holy book of the Sikhs ‘The Gurugranth Sahib’. The ‘Paathi’ explained the students the why, whom and when of the Sikh religion. The children were delighted to have Prasad.
It was an enriching experience for students as they were enlightened about the Sikh Gurus and their contribution to the society at large.

British Council

Class III

Shanti Asiatic School had arranged a field trip to British Council Library for the students of class III to make reading more interesting & effective for student’s understanding on 1st November 2018.They explained about digital library and other activities like film screenings, storytelling and showed a video on solar system.
It was an inspiring experience for students which developed empathy in our children & motivated them to be avid readers.

Bajrang Fruit Mart

The students of Nursery visited “Bajrang Fruit Mart” on September 28, 2018.
Our enthusiastic learners easily identified different fruits and vegetables. They also got to see exotic fruits from different countries.

The students of Jr. KG visited a “Nursery” on September 28, 2018.
Children enjoyed this trip to the fullest; they observed different types of saplings like Bonsai , Cactus, Bamboo,Climbers, Creepers and admired them a lot. Tiny tots had fun chasing colourful butterflies

Science City

The students of Sr. KG visited “Science City” on September 29, 2018.
They were amazed to see the dinosaur park which mesmerized them with various replicas of the dinosaurs as well as their fossils. They enhanced their knowledge by observing Planetarium and coal mines. They also discussed about the Solar System and observed different types of birds.
The Students really felt that the Science City was worth visiting, it motivated them to learn in depth.
Thus it was an educative and informative trip.

Industrial Visit – Extended Classroom

August 4, 2018
An Industrial visit was organised for the students of classes XI & XII Commerce and Entrepreneurship students to Magneti Marelli Motherson Auto System Pvt Ltd, GIDC Sanand, Ahmedabad, with the objective of providing students with first-hand experience for learning various concepts related to Business and Management and to make learning more fun, explicit and long-lasting.

Field Trip @ Decathlon

Sports Do not build character they revel it
To enhance the physical and mental development, students of Nursery and Jr. KG visited “Decathlon” on July 9, 2018.
The Students were explained about different sports equipments. The importance of helmet while driving the bicycle and the difference between games like Football and Volley Ball was demonstrated. Little champs had a gala time as they enjoyed playing football in the ground.
Thus, it was a learning experience for Kids.

Mantavya News Studio

“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not just acquired by listening to words but by experiencing things in our environment. “

Based on the monthly theme of self awareness students of Pre Primary visited the “Mantavya News Studio “ on Friday, June 29 , 2018 . It was their first time experience to see the camera , the green room , live news reading , telecast equipments, etc . They got to know about the emergency contact numbers, various live telecast of different towns being carried out, how awareness campaigns are conducted etc.
They also got an opportunity to interact with the reporters. The trip proved to be very informative and innovative.

Hind Super Market

To make the topic ‘Places around us’ more interesting & effective students were taken to Provision Store and its Game Zone. The students were made to select and buy any item of Rs.10/- of their choice which enabled them to learn how to handle money.
Overall it was an enriching experience that will definitely help to impart knowledge to students in more valuable manner.

Hypercity Mart

The process of batter making, moulding, baking ,sorting and finally packaging in Parle G packets was demonstrated to the students.
They were thrilled to see the functioning of the plant and experienced the automation techniques.

Mahudi Jain Temple- Mahudi village, Gandhinagar

The museum is dedicated to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel who was the first Home Minister of Free India.
It was a great experience for all the students in audio visual display hall which shows the lifestyle of Sardar Patel, photographs, personal belongings and other artefacts related to his life.

“ Non violence and truth are inseparable and presuppose one another – Mahatma Gandhi”

Students of Class II got a chance to experience truthfulness, non violence & patriotism, through a visit to Sabarmati Ashram, a temple of divine values.
The students were exposed to Memorial Museum – housing Mahatma Gandhiji’s books, letters photographs etc.

Exhibition on Gandhi’s life, literature and activities helped the students know more about his life and his selfless struggle of Independence.

SAS believes in preparing its students to face the outer world. Field trips offer an opportunity to connect their learning to real life.
One such field visit was organized for the students where they identified different types of animals which they have seen only in books.
Little toddlers of Sr.KG also visited Kids city for an educational trip and had hands on experience of different areas of work such as fire station, hospital, theatre and studios. Students enacting as community helpers was sight to behold.

British Council Library

Class III24th January, 2018

The library has a collection of over 25,000 books including the latest bestsellers to the timeline classics.
The students got a chance to explore themselves through these various kinds of books and encyclopedias. It was a great opportunity for them to enrich their knowledge.
The students went through the blurbs at the back of the books and gathered information about many books in a short span of time. The students were also surprised to know about the brand new e-library facility where the members can log on to enjoy the online collection of e-books, audio books, e-magazines etc.
The students even experienced the greatest, well-known author William Shakespeare’s story and also viewed a visual clip of solar system through animation. The students also played a game named “Scrabble” which was a helping hand for their vocabulary building.
Hence, it was a great knowledge trip for the students and they enjoyed a lot.

Visit to Church

As it is truly said …to bring a change in the society…be the change first….a change by experiencing the “Joy of Giving”. Based on this, students of Pre Primary visited St Jude Church on December 29, 2017.
Little Angels donated many day – to – day things at the Church which will be handed over to the orphanage, old age home and slum areas. The students and staff were enriched with the ‘joy of giving’ experience.
Truly… small efforts go a long way in inculcating refined values of self discipline, empathy and citizenship.

Indroda park ,Gandhinagar

They had a gala time at Dinosaur park while surveying the Botanical Garden. Observing the model of Formation of Earth, the Solar system and the geographical presentation of earth was an exciting experience.

Students visited Gurudwara to get exposure of the culture and religious values of the Sikh community. The students were explained the importance of the teachings of Guru Nanak Devji. Students also rendered their Sewa (selfless service) by serving food to their friends.

Students of classes: XI & XII pursuing Computer Studies and Information Practices visited the Coco Cola Plant, Kheda wherein they got an opportunity to understand and visually experience the extensive methods involved in the manufacturing and packaging of their favourite beverages. The state-of-the-art equipments and the rigorous standards enthralled the students. It was a golden opportunity for the students and an enriching experience to see their favourite beverages in making.

If students want to learn basics and are interested in science, then Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition is a great exhibition to visit, many things were available to learn and students were really happy with the knowledge they received from the exhibition.

The exhibition is held once in a year, free of cost for one week. It consisted of various space technologies which were great for kids to understand the solar system. It had integrated solar system replica with automated electronic information system. The students were really fascinated with the automated systems at the exhibition and they gathered deep insights on Satellite.

They could understand more about ISRO (Indian space research Organization) and the great achievements gained by India in the field of Space Science and Technology. Experts’ team was available at each display; they explained each model in detail.

Overall it was a successful trip for teachers and students as it offered ample amount of knowledge related to space satellites.

The students were exposed to an exclusive range of over 20,000 books, journals, CDs/DVDs, e-journals and e-books in the Library to quench their thirst of knowledge.

They were briefed about the functions of the library, its rules and regulations.

The different videos of songs, stories, rhymes followed by the word building game made them feel happy and satisfied.

Sasities visits ISRO

Students were eager to know how satellites and astronauts work, SAS organized an educational trip for Sr.KG students to ISRO on October 5th, 2017.

There were many surprise elements waiting for them. They saw a 3D movie based on life of astronauts. Kiddos were amazed to see the models of India’s first satellite – Aryabhatta.
The team ISRO explained and discussed about the ‘launchers’ with demo. Watching the rhymes inside the dome was icing on the cake.

The overall experience was enthralling and inspiring as it felt our heart with great patriotism and pride as the trip made students realized that India is a SUPER POWER in space services.

PRATHAM VANDU PRABHU TUJNE.

“Hare Krishna Hare Rama”

“Jaikar” echoed in the air as the little students of Sr.KG gathered for their first visit to Iskon Temple on August 10, 2017.These regular visits to the temples and other religious sites enable kids to gain more awareness and understanding of religions.

Students were mesmerized by the magnificent “Murti” of Lord Krishna. Students also observed how the food is prepared in temple at “Akshay Patra” for underprivileged children.

At Iskcon temple, the students were captivated by the “Kirtan” .The uplifting feeling of the mahamantra chanting “Hare Krishna Hare Rama” engulfed one and all.
An informative and enjoyable trip indeed!!!

“Field trips are a key component; they broaden the educational experience and make a subject more relevant. It also offers an uncommon opportunity to perform hands-on learning.”

Students of Class II visited The Botanical Garden and Candy Factory for Field Trip. The students in the garden explored different plants and understood life cycle and food habits of different animals, birds and insects in their natural habitat. They were also exposed to the aquatic habitats, Organic Farm, Compost making pit, Bubble Garden to prepare medicines and many more things. The students at the candy factory explored their favourite place, where candies were made! They saw the candies in bulk and the process of packing it mechanically.

Through such field trips, we cultivate practical learners by fuelling their innate curiosity.

Stepwell at Adalaj

Students witnessed a fusion of Hindu- Islamic architecture. A brief history of the place provided by the local guardian transported the students to a bygone era which emphasizes the fact that a great king is the one who takes care for the smallest needs of his subjects.

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened ”

This Field Trip to Nature Discovery Centre promoted awareness of endangered animals.
Sundarvan’s activities with children acted as a catalyst in the process of exploring.
They visited a Mini-Zoo which has a collection of reptiles, birds and small mammals which facilitated them to gain knowledge about different varieties of animals.

Hotel Crowne Plaza

As a part of British Council Project, tiny tots of Sr. KG visited Hotel Crowne Plaza on February 16, 2017. Renowned chef Mr. Yash of The Crowne Plaza threw light on the healthy European diet. He demonstrated how to make nutritious diet like Oats Porridge and Greek Salad. Kiddos shared their knowledge about Food Pyramid.

A token of gratitude was given in the form of a “thank you” card to the chef. The session was thoroughly enjoyed by the children and was very informative.

Science City

“The Science of today is technology of tomorrow”

The students of Class V went to Science City with an objective to acquire knowledge about the growth of science and technology and their application in various industries, human welfare and environment.
The students visited IMAX 3D Theatre, Energy Park, Hall of Science, Planet Earth, Amphitheatre, Life Science Park etc.

This visit to an education cum entertainment centre, promoted scientific temper and awareness in students.

District Consumer Court

Students from classes VII to X visited a District Consumer Court as a part of ISA activity.

The purpose of the visit was to understand the working of a court and nature of the duties of the judicial officers. The visit was to help the students understand the role of court in dispensing justice, the ways cases proceed in a court and the way judges and lawyers handle the case.

This Industrial visit helped students to know about the white revolution and primitive and newer modes of milk collection and distribution. They saw the actual milk processing capacity of the plant with the significance of the steps in processing.
This automated process to maintain hygiene standards was very interesting .

Overall, the activity was highly interactive and learning visit for the students on the concepts related to the production and operations within a manufacturing plant.

The students viewed the magnificent view of architecture with a perfect blend of technology.

The life history of Mahatma Gandhi was beautifully shown through videos, movies and audios.

His effective leadership to gather all and move ahead with determination for the Independence of our country gets revised once again through these movies.

“Psychology is knowledge- the knowledge of a definite thing, the mind.”

The students of the Class XII Psychology visited an asylum to study the complexities of human behaviour and its impact on a human being.

The students got a chance to visit the psychiatric wards and also realized the importance of mental health. The fact that there are only 4000 Psychiatrists in India and Psychologists are less than 2000 highlighted the percentage of ignorance for this branch and the stigma attached to the patients.

It was a memorable experience for the students as they visited the set up for the first time. It gave them an idea of how the mental health professionals worked and also gave them an insight into the condition of the patients suffering from the illness.

Safai Vidhyalaya

The students of Class III visited “Safai Vidhyalaya” established by late Mr. Ishwarbhai Patel, a Padmashree awardee. The trip was quite enriching as the students realised essentials of cleanliness. The students saw the toilet garden and toilet cafe that were of the models of different types of toilets and the process of making biogas.

The key learning was how toilets are directly linked with the biogas production plant.

Ahmedabad City Museum

Students’ minds need to be filled with the desirable information in such an interesting way that they are motivated to think and contemplate over it which consequently turns into their learning.

A field trip was organized for Class III students to the Ahmedabad City Museum: Sankar Kendra and Kite Museum where they saw the different types of kites from Malasya, China and Singapore. Also, they saw different sculptures by different artists.

Freshly baked bread!

Kabhi B Bakery opened its doors to welcome the students of Class I and they keenly observed the art of baking.

The large mixing grinders and an aroma of bread that was simply appetizing! Students were given an idea of mixing, baking, packaging and transporting of the bakery products.

They were given a special tour of the department where cakes of every flavor, glazed with coloured icings are baked on special orders.

Sabarmati Ashram

Students of Class VIII got a chance to experience truthfulness, non violence & patriotism, through a visit to Sabarmati Ashram, a temple of divine values.
The students were exposed to Memorial Museum – housing Mahatma Gandhiji’s books, letters photographs etc.

Exhibition on Gandhi’s life, literature and activities helped the students know more about his life and his selfless struggle of Independence.

Science City

The students visited IMAX 3D Theatre, Energy Park, Hall of Science, Planet Earth, Amphitheatre, Life Science Park etc.

This visit to an education cum entertainment centre, promoted scientific temper and awareness in students.

Exploring Lothal

The students of Class VI had a glance at the magnificent remains of our oldest civilizations that is Harappan Civilization at Lothal. They witnessed various preserved antiques like types of beads, pots, stones, ornaments etc. used during that era along with a video presentation.

A video presentation gave a clear view to children to know more about trade during that era. The highlights of the presentation were an archeological site, a market site of 5000 years ago.

This visit really enriched the students with knowledge about our Incredible Heritage.

A Trip To Remember!

14 students and 4 staff members were on an educational and sightseeing trip to Singapore and Malaysia.

The students appreciated Singapore for the multicultural society. The city enjoys a clean and green environment and a well connected transport system. The students visited the Science Centre, Juron Park, Sentosa Island, Singapore Night Safari, any many other places.

The students visited the Indian Global School and CHIJ at Singapore. Here the students interacted with the Singaporean and Indian students. They exchanged notes on academic and cultural front. It was an enriching experience for the students and the staff. The students of SAS were appreciated for their conduct, smartness and behavior. The students were mesmerized by the infrastructure, technology, discipline, cleanliness and progress of these countries.. They vowed to follow the same.
